CommSec: US Close 20 Sept 16

US sharemarkets ended modestly weaker in a choppy session on Monday. Largely investors waited on a number of Central Bank meetings later this week. The strength in banking stocks was offset by a fall in Apple shares. The KBW banking index lifted by 0.5%, while Apple shares fell 1.2% after the huge gains last week. US home builders recorded healthy gains following the strength in home builder sentiment. The Dow Jones index fell by almost 4 points with the S&P 500 index largely flat while the Nasdaq lost almost 10 points or 0.2%.
